Head Coach
Nathan Springer
Coach Nate is a alum of UMD and formerly raced with the team. He has been coaching for over 25 years at the high school, club and collegiate levels. Nate holds multiple certifications from US ski and Snowboard and formerly worked as a professional ski instructor in MN and CO.
Coach Nate has a dual focus on high-level competition and accessibility for new racers, which creates a great team dynamic for all levels of athletes. He also aspires to build confident leaders in the athletes he coaches.

UMD Alpine Ski & Snowboard team has a student governing board, in which oversees team functions, annual planning, and student outreach. They dedicate a significant amount of personal time ensuring the team functions smoothly.

Stella Gronski
Class of 2027- Major: Exercise Science
I’m entering my fourth year on the UMD Alpine Ski Team and have previously served as both Treasurer and Vice President. I’m majoring in Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences and have been skiing competitively since I was five years old. Through my time on the team, I’ve been actively involved in leadership and organization, and I’m excited to continue contributing to the team’s growth and success.
The President serves as the chief officer and spokesperson of the UMD Alpine Ski and Snowboard Team, overseeing operations, leading meetings, and delegating responsibilities.

Bodie Callaway
Class of 2029- Major: Mechanical Engineering
2026 USCSA Snowboard Slalom and GS National Champion, Placed 3rd Overall Combined Alpine Mens Snowboard
I’m entering my second year on the team and studying Mechanical Engineering, with plans to graduate in 2029. I’m excited to serve as Vice President this year, and I have been snowboard racing for seven years. I’m looking forward to helping the team grow and hope to see its continued success after I graduate.
The Vice President supports the President and assumes their duties if needed. They coordinate fundraising with officers and captains and arrange team lodging.

I have been ski racing since fourth grade, and competing at UMD has been an incredibly rewarding experience that has connected me with many great teammates and friends. I have been a member of the UMD Alpine Ski Team since my freshman year and previously served as a Women’s Alpine Captain. I’m excited for my final season with the team.
The Secretary reports to the President and manages public relations, social media, and promotion of team events, fundraisers, and activities, while maintaining alumni and media relations.

Treasurer

The Treasurer reports to the President and Vice President and is responsible for keeping records of the club’s finances, purchases, registration fees, lodging payments, and assisting in the duties of the President. Term length is one year.
Captains: Serve alongside the officers in supporting team operations. Responsibilities include designing team apparel, coordinating with the Treasurer on purchases, assisting coaches during practices, and ensuring all on-hill duties are properly assigned and rotated on race days.
