USCSA National Team Qualifiers 2004 - 2015, 2020
2022/23 Team Leadership
The team is lead by a group of core volunteers. These volunteers oversee all aspects and levels of team functions. They consist of current team-member student athletes as well as dedicated alumni coaches.
Volunteer Coaches -
UMD Alpine has had a tradition and fortune of dedicated Alumni that come back and volunteer their time & energy to coach such an amazing group of student-athletes. They give back to an organization that helped create life long friends, skills, and personal development.
Our primary coaches are USSA certified and continue to pursue additional education to continue professional growth in ski racing! Many go on to Officiate in the MCSA and USCSA.

there is to do outside and the great education. I have been
skiing since I was 3 and racing since I was 6. My favorite
race is Marquette because I love Michigan and the town.
My favorite places to free ski is Red Lodge Mountain and
Bridger Bowl.

My name is Decker Whyle and I am majoring in mechanical engineering. My favorite part about the ski team is performing knuck drags so well that grown women faint. My favorite place to ski is uninhabited territory in Alaska. In my free time I enjoy doing kung fu in an open field, rescuing old ladies from burning buildings, and building large wooden ships with my bare hands.

Fundraising/Social Media Coordinator Jenny Arndt

My name is Jenny Arndt, I am the 20/21 Social Media & Fundraising chair. I’m in my senior year at UMD finishing out a degree in Communication with a minor in Professional Writing. My favorite place to ski would have to be Giants Ridge, I always look forward to our races there, although I have a soft spot for Mount Kato, my home hill. As a freshman, this team really brought me in and gave me a place to belong, and I’m excited to meet all our new members and hopefully giving them the same wonderful experience I’ve had!

Team Captains - Lead, develop, facilitate training, lead the team on and off the hill among just a few of their duties.
Men's Captain Chris Danisch
My name is Chris Danisch and I am very excited to be one of the captains for this year! I am a senior majoring in political science so this is my second and final year on the team. My favorite race was probably Marquette because the road trip is really great time to bond with teammates. My favorite place to ski when not racing is Breckenridge because I am able to go with my family! I am so excited for this upcoming year!
