The team is lead by a group of core volunteers. These volunteers oversee all aspects and levels of team functions. They consist of current team-member student athletes as well as dedicated alumni coaches.
Volunteer Coaches -

there is to do outside and the great education. I have been

race is Marquette because I love Michigan and the town.
My favorite places to free ski is Red Lodge Mountain and
Vice President Decker Whyle
My name is Decker Whyle and I am majoring in mechanical engineering. My favorite part about the ski team is performing knuck drags so well that grown women faint. My favorite place to ski is uninhabited territory in Alaska. In my free time I enjoy doing kung fu in an open field, rescuing old ladies from burning buildings, and building large wooden ships with my bare hands.
Treasurer Grant Madison
I am a senior finance major. I have been skiing since I was 3
and racing since I was 8. I grew up skiing at Ski Gull in Brainerd.
I chose to go to school in Duluth because I wanted to keep skiing.

Secretary Renee Bouldus
My name is Renee Boldus and my major is Public Health. I started skiing when I was 2 years old and my favorite place to ski is Breckenridge in Colorado. My favorite ski memory is the Spirit race last year, our "home" races are always a lot of fun!
Fundraising/Social Media Coordinator Jenny Arndt
My name is Jenny Arndt, I am the 20/21 Social Media & Fundraising chair. I’m in my senior year at UMD finishing out a degree in Communication with a minor in Professional Writing. My favorite place to ski would have to be Giants Ridge, I always look forward to our races there, although I have a soft spot for Mount Kato, my home hill. As a freshman, this team really brought me in and gave me a place to belong, and I’m excited to meet all our new members and hopefully giving them the same wonderful experience I’ve had!
Team Captains - Lead, develop, facilitate training, lead the team on and off the hill among just a few of their duties.
Men's Captain Chris Danisch
My name is Chris Danisch and I am very excited to be one of the captains for this year! I am a senior majoring in political science so this is my second and final year on the team. My favorite race was probably Marquette because the road trip is really great time to bond with teammates. My favorite place to ski when not racing is Breckenridge because I am able to go with my family! I am so excited for this upcoming year!
Men's Captain Nate Denney
Hi, I’m Nate Denney. I’m a sophomore majoring in Professional Sales. My favorite race out of the year is Giants. And my favorite part about the team is being able to have fun on the hill with a great group of people.
Women's Captain Frankie Flores
I am a sophomore majoring in Biology. I started skiing when I was 6 because it was something fun I could do with my older brothers but I didn’t start racing until I was in 8th grade. My favorite part of being on the UMD Alpine ski team is being around people who share a love for the sport. My other hobbies include climbing, kayaking, and drawing.
Women's Captain Suzanne Schneider
I am a double major in Art History and Political Science. I started skiing when I was about one year old and started racing when I was six. My favorite place we race at is Lacrosse, Wisconsin and my favorite place to free ski at is Steamboat, Colorado.
